Console Tables at Adore the Decor
A console table earns its place in entries, hallways and behind sofas. This collection includes solid wood, clear glass, mirrored glass, faux marble and faux stone consoles with metal, iron or pedestal bases. Many add shelves, drawers or storage, in black, white, brown, silver and gold finishes.
Tip: keep the console a few inches shorter than the back of the sofa it sits behind. Style the top with table lamps and vases, and hang one of our mirrors above it.

How to choose and style a console table
Measure depth first. Most consoles are 12 to 18 inches deep, and narrow hallways need the slimmer end so at least 36 inches of walkway remain.
- Length: behind a sofa, choose a console no longer than the sofa itself, ideally a few inches shorter on each end.
- Height: standard consoles are about 30 inches tall; behind a sofa, match or sit just below the sofa back.
- Storage: drawers hide keys and mail in an entry, while open shelves hold baskets or books.
- Material: glass and mirrored tops keep a small space open; wood and faux stone feel grounded.
For styling, use a simple formula: something tall (a lamp or vase), something wide (art or a mirror), and something low (a tray, bowl or stack of books). Leave space for daily use, such as a dish for keys. Our console table styling formula walks through it.
Hang a mirror or art so its bottom edge sits 6 to 10 inches above the tabletop. Place baskets or a bench underneath to use the lower space. For more entry ideas, browse benches.
