Where round rugs work best
A round rug is a natural fit wherever furniture is already circular or the space needs a softer shape.
- Round dining tables: add about 4 feet to the table diameter. A 48-inch table usually needs an 8-foot round rug.
- Entryways and foyers: center it under a chandelier or pendant for a strong focal point.
- Reading corners: a 5- or 6-foot round anchors one chair and a side table.
- Nurseries and kids rooms: a soft play zone in the middle of the floor.
Jute and wool feel natural and textured underfoot but prefer dry rooms. Polypropylene and washable rugs handle kitchens, entries and pets better. Always use a round pad on hard floors so the edge does not curl, and rotate the rug a quarter turn every few months.
